Every few months, Magnolia Market transforms to bring the spirit of the season to life—sort of like a miniature Disney World. This season, Joanna Gaines wanted a magical winter wonderland, so her team got to sketching and planning. After final designs were approved by Jo and original art and displays were crafted, the visual art team had 20 hours to transform the entire shop from festive fall to the spirit of Christmas.
"I really felt like the transformation from summer to fall was a really big change. But, there's something about fall to winter that feels even more dramatic," Joanna d in the Magnolia Winter 2018 transformation video, adding, "There's something about Christmastime that's really like no other."
Upon entering the shop, customers will see a beautiful sign on the wall reading "A Thrill of Hope," followed by large log cabin displays holding Jo's magazines, candles, and mugs. Behind the cozy cabins is a hanging curtain of glistening wooden snowflakes.
Wooden spatulas dipped in "ice" hang from another ceiling like icicles (and are reminiscent of the hanging paintbrushes in one of their fall displays.)
"I hope that everyone walks in with this childlike wonder...Whether you're eighty or your five, you look up, you look around, and you're taken back." Watch the full video to see how Magnolia Market changed seasons in 20 hours:
