If you dream of those days spent in your childhood treehouse (or wish you had one growing up), this hotel is the next best thing. At the Treehotel in Harads, Sweden, you can have your choice of staying in seven architecturally unique tree rooms located right in the middle of nature. The relaxing rooms are built 4-6 meters above ground and have amazing views of the river, forest, and more.
The design of each tree room is eco-friendly with eco outdoor wood floors, LED lighting, electricity from a hydroelectric power source, and water-efficient sinks in every bathroom. "We build our tree rooms in the natural forest while hardly affecting the surroundings," the hotel website says. "We choose material and construction techniques that makes as little environmental impact as possible. We build on live trees without destroying the tree and we do not chop down any trees or damage nature while building."
With each treehouse camouflaging into the natural landscape in a different way—and all appearing to be floating in midair—Treehotel is designed to ignite the imagination. Depending on when you visit, you'll either bask in the midnight sun or roam under the northern lights.
