Everything We Know About the Final Season of "Fixer Upper"

Laura Bush and Tim Tebow will make an appearance!

You've probably already heard that after five seasons of shiplap and wise cracks, Joanna and Chip Gaines are saying "goodbye" to their hit show, Fixer Upper. "It is with both sadness and expectation that we the news that season five of Fixer Upper will be our last," they wrote on their blog.

Sure, we're bummed, but we're also prepared to make the most of the final episodes, complete with watch parties and a ban on double screening — and we think you should too. To get you excited, here's everything we already know about season five.

1. The Gaines are leaving to focus on their family.

Even though rumors have been swirling about why the Gaines are quitting the show, there's no drama: "For people, they think there's got to be a reason, like, 'Oh, something bad happened and therefore that's why they're leaving the show.' I think it's just hard for people to comprehend, no, we're just leaving because it's right instinctively for us and our family. No negative reason," Joanna told The Huffington Post.

Thank you all for watching, caring and cheering us on these past few years. We are overwhelmed by your support and your kindness. You have become a part of our story forever. Season 5 of Fixer Upper is scheduled to start airing in November and we really have saved the best for last! (To see the full announcement about our finale season, visit magnoliamarket.com/blog)

2. But it's still bittersweet for them.

"While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with. Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place," they wrote on their blog.

3. The last season premieres on Tuesday, November 21.

It'll consist of 14 new episodes and four new specials. So you can slowly say goodbye to the Gaines over the course of quite a bit of time.

4. The first episode of the season will focus on Matt and Samantha.

The couple is in search of a historic family home after relocating from Austin, Texas to Waco — and the Gaines don't disappoint.

5. The piano from episode three is now in the Gaines' farmhouse.

Joanna d a pic of the green beauty on her Instagram, explaining that the homeowner wanted to get rid of it, so she took it home with her.

6. The couple taped their final reveal on November 2 — and it was emotional.

Joanna d a picture of her and Chip walking up to their last house poster on Instagram with a sentimental caption: "Today was the final reveal ... We definitely felt the emotion behind each of those steps leading up to the big canvas."

7. And they got the greatest send-off afterwards.

Who wouldn't love a surprise parade in your office parking lot?

8. Bookshelves are going to be everywhere.

Joanna has been sharing sneak peeks of what viewers can expect to see in the upcoming season, including four very different shelves that prove books are a huge trend this season.

9. But expect a little less subway tile.

Sure, this backsplash still has all the characteristics of subway tile, but with an architectural twist.

10. Laura Bush and Tim Tebow will make an appearance.

While there's no word on what these two celebrities will be doing during their appearances on the show, we do know that they'll be seen at some point during season five.

11. And so will Joanna's sister.

Prepare yourself: Joanna says her favorite makeover of all time will take place this season, which her and Chip did for her sister and her family of seven, going on eight.

12. Clint Harp will return as well.

Even though he has his own DIY Network show, the fan favorite revealed on his Instagram that he'll still be lending his skills to a few custom pieces for Joanna in season five.

Not having any fun filming with @joannagaines today for #FixerUpper 😂😂😂 ...some have asked "will you still be on Fixer if you ever get your own show??"....well IF we get our own show on @diynetwork (and we should know more on that soon)...yes for sure I'll still be on Fixer!! So thankful to have been busy for months now knocking out projects for the upcoming season! #season5iscoming #lovebuildrun

13. Sadly, you won't see a bald Chip on "Fixer Upper."

He revealed on his Instagram on November 3 plans to host a fundraiser for Target House with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The more money he raised, the shorter he'd cut his hair.

It’s come to my attention that most of you hate my current hairstyle. But how MUCH do you hate it? Now’s the time to put your money where your mouth is. ⠀ ⠀ So here's the deal: Next week, Jo and I are visiting the beautiful kids at Target House with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. No family ever pays at @StJude for treatment, travel or food—so basically, we want to bring them a giant check from YOU to help cover costs—lets come together to do something big to bless these kiddos. ⠀ ⠀ Donate to @StJude through the link in my profile, and the more money we raise over the next FOUR days, the shorter my hair goes. That's a promise. And, who knows, maybe if you really exceed my expectations...I'll buzz it all off. #OperationHaircut

A post d by Chip Gaines (@chipgaines) on

Apparently Chip raised a lot of money, because on November 8 he shaved his head completely bald! But since filming was over, it's safe to say his long locks were intact until the final reveal.

We are leaving Memphis changed. Kiddos of @stjude we go with your faces on our minds and your stories in our hearts. Thank you for letting us be a part of your home at Target House. We are cheering you on every step of the way. ❤️

14. We may get a look inside the Hillcrest Estate.

This is purely speculative, but since the renovation of the Gaines' new vacation rental overlapped with filming of season five, we're hopping we get a behind-the-scenes look at the makeover.

View this post on Instagram

We are now opening another vacation rental! Chip and I had so much fun restoring this old Waco icon and cannot wait to welcome guests starting this fall. This house dates back to 1903 and we definitely kept its old world charm—our hope is that friends and families from all over can make lasting memories here during their visit to Waco. Our newsletter subscribers will hear all about when and how to book the Hillcrest Estate, so be sure you’re signed up (link in profile) - and don’t miss out on the news! #HillcrestEstate #magnoliadesignandconstruction

15. There will be a few walks down memory lane.

Joanna teased on Instagram that Chip and her visited the house from their pilot episode with a crew of cameras, so we have a feeling we'll have a few opportunities to feel sentimental about the end of the show.

Today we got to take a walk down memory lane with the crew... remember this house?! This was the first home we shot for our #fixerupper pilot episode five years ago! My how time flies 📺

16. Don't expect the Gaines to hold anything back.

"We are really, really proud of season five. We laid it all on the field and didn't hold anything back. We think it's the perfect finale to this amazing journey we've been on," they wrote on their blog. We can't wait to watch.
