"Home Is Bear the Heart Is" by Mister Peebles
Small things are satisfying — what else explains an obsession with doll houses or with ? These tiny miniature rooms, part of the 's Small Stories exhibition and on view starting this week, nicely scratch the itch for small. Twenty London-based designers, including and , were given a 30 centimeter square wooden box and told to create their dream rooms.
Curator Alice Sage told that she asked the designers "to reflect on the idea of 'ideal' or 'fantasy' rooms," and the results range from the realistic, like 's whimsical "Molly's Favourite Things," which resembles a child's bedroom, to 's Mondrian-meets-Mario "If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there…." But they all one thing: They're all rooms we'd like to step inside, even if just for a second.
