Marie Kondo is a clean machine. After a writing two bestsellers, launching a KonMari conference, filming a wildly popular Netflix show, and training her own organizers to tidy homes everywhere, Kondo is turning to another demographic: children. Yes, while we wait patiently for KonMari's own Goop, she's been quietly writing a children's book made for teaching her trademarked method to your little ones.
In an Instagram post, Kondo addressed the book rumors head on with a cover shot of Kiki & Jax: The Life Changing Magic of Friendship and a link to a description on KonMari's website. The book, available November 9th, follows Kiki the collector and Jax the sorter, whose friendship runs into trouble when Kiki's collection gets out of hand.
"They have to figure out how to make room for what’s always sparked joy – their friendship," reads the description on the KonMari website.
"It’s a timeless story about friendship, and I hope that the characters of Kiki and Jax will inspire children and families to tidy and embrace joy!" Kondo wrote in the caption.
The guide is illustrated and co-written by award-winning author Selina Yoon, and highlights the method's greatest strength: the idea that anyone can KonMari (whether they should is a separate question). Since the premiere of the Netflix show, Kondo has taken to Instagram to show that growing families, kids, and even dogs can embrace the art of tidying up:
Kiki & Jax: The Life Changing Magic of Friend is currently available for pre-order and ships on November 5th. Need more KonMari? Find out how to book your own Kondo approved organizer here.
