Anyone who lets strangers stay in their home when they're not there is putting their property at risk. But Ben Sargent, the host of the Cooking Channel's who's also known for his , never could have expected what he came home to after his most recent renters left: It was sitting 15 feet under water.
Known as the Ziggy Stardust, the rental was a popular pick in part because of it's prime spot in the Far Rockaway's Marina 59 on Jamaica Bay, a beloved Queens beach neighborhood. However Sargent broke the news that one rowdy group might have ruined the rental for future guests on his : "I'm very bummed to tell you that one of Dr. Klaw's best hideaways is now sitting under 15 feet of water due to a bad group of renters."
According to rumors, the trouble started around 5 a.m. on Saturday when people staying at the marina heard three loud pops. Even though Sargent doesn't know if the boat is fixable, he's going to try his best and used scuba diving equipment to close the windows under water the day after the damage was done. The next step is pumping the water out of the inside.
If you want to try to help save Ziggy Stardust, visit Sargent's . Fingers crossed this big blue boat will be up and running again before the summer is over.
