The next time you hear someone say they don't want flowers because they die too easily, please tell them they've been doing it wrong.
Teleflora, the flower delivery company, has recently made a huge push to incorporate succulents and other sustainable blooms into its designs, both to stay on-trend and so that people could enjoy their bouquets longer. It's a win-win, and apparently, it's seriously resonating with people.
In just a few months, these new bouquets have skyrocketed onto the brand's bestseller lists for several holidays (including Valentine's Day and Mother's Day), and the company's already announced plans to expand its selection as a result. (The Desert Sunrise style is a particular fan favorite — and for good reason: Just look at that color combo.) No matter the season, these gifts will truly never succ.
To keep your flowers looking fresh even longer, Teleflora d a few surprising pointers. Who knew plants like vodka too?!
How to care for your flowers:
- Add a few drops of vodka
- Pour a tablespoon of sugar in the water
- Store your flowers in the fridge at night
- Change water daily
- Add a penny to the water (it fights bacteria)
Of course, since succulents will last even longer than the flowers planted with it, you are able to replant them once everything else has wilted.
How to replant your succulent:
- Remove picking material from the root
- Replant in a garden or pot using cactus soil
- Place in the sun
- Water only when the soil is dry (approx. every 7-10 days)
Voila! Now will you please get excited about having fresh flowers and plants around your home? You can do this.
