Here's Your First Look at the HGTV Dream Home 2018

This cozy yet modern Pacific Northwest home couldn't be cuter.

The 2018 HGTV Dream Home has officially been unveiled — and it is dreamy, indeed. Built in the '70s, the 3,500-square-foot, waterfront house in Gig Harbor, Washington, was completely remodeled and redecorated for the contest.

Words cannot describe how incredible it was to spearhead the interior and exterior design of this Pacific Northwest fantasy. It's absolutely the most spectacular piece of property I've ever stepped foot on, and there's no way I would ever have landed this Dream job if it wasn't for the support and enthusiasm from wonderful people like yourselves, and for that I cannot thank you enough. Welcome to HGTV Dream Home 2018 in Gig Harbor, WA. Entries start December 27th and end February 16th. Good night, and good luck. 📸 @rusticwhite @rusticwhiteinteriors #hgtvdreamhome

"Gig Harbor is truly the kind of place that dreams are made of, and we know our fans are going to be captivated by this town's uncommon beauty, rich heritage, and love of all things water," said HGTV's general manager of home promotions Ron Feinbaum in a press release. "In concert with builder Choice Construction and architect Eric Gedney, we have created a thoroughly modern residence with design inspiration to spare that represents the very best of what it means to be an HGTV Dream Home."

Although the designer, Brian Patrick Flynn, describes the style as "livable modernism," we also spy some earthy elements inspired by the seaside setting.

Just imagine spending the next holiday season in this cozy space. Actually, you don't have to imagine. Here it is all decorated for Christmas...

Let me with you the dreamiest seasonal design pitch EVER: I said I wanted to go with robin's egg blue and cherry red and keep things woodsy and modern for the holidays and everyone said okay without any hesitation whatsoever and here we are in December in Washington where my hair always looks amazing and everybody wins. The end. 📸 @rusticwhite @rusticwhiteinteriors @abbyhaygoodinteriors @hgtv #hgtvdreamhome

Me, admitting my tartan obsession, "I use A LOT of tartan in my work so maybe I should pare it back with this project." Also me, "Oh, those brand new tartan chairs I got for this project go right here in the dining room, thanks." 📸 @rusticwhite @rusticwhiteinteriors @abbyhaygoodinteriors @hgtv

All I want for Christmas is to not spend 26 minutes deliberating about moving bowls two inches to the left and then two inches to the right everytime I prop style one of my kitchen designs. That would, in fact, be a Christmas miracle. 📸 @rusticwhite @rusticwhiteinteriors @abbyhaygoodinteriors

Me, "I'm a hands-on designer and I really break a sweat on my installations." Also me, "Johnny, will you hang this lightweight wreath for me so I can watch more of Busy Philipps's and Jen Gotch's Instagram stories?" 📸 @rusticwhiteinteriors @rusticwhite | #hgtvdreamhome

You know how 98% of made-for-tv holiday movies involve a Christmas tree farm, a town with the word Merry or Holly in it, an ambitious city gal with a sharply dressed yet unappreciative businessman boyfriend, a location fit for adirondack chairs, and/or tons of discreetly integrated morning coffee footage? Well, yeah, here is a porch fit for all of that. You're welcome. 📸 @rusticwhite @rusticwhiteinteriors @abbyhaygoodinteriors
