Searching for that perfect gift for everyone on your list can be really tough, especially if you're working with the "don't get me anything" or "I'd be grateful no matter what" people. Sure, presents are an optional part of the season, but for me, giving is even better than receiving gifts this time of year and I always put the pressure on to top last Christmas.
Should you be nodding your head in agreement, this is for you. Because I've officially found the most unique and thoughtful gift of 2018 and it's out of this world, I might even add. No it's not a zodiac gift for your astrology obsessed friends (though those are great, too), but good guess! It's The Night Sky.
That seems like such a broad statement, but that's really what these things are called and I'm starstruck. The Night Sky is a printed 18" by 24" star map on 190g Art Matte paper showing "the night your heart skipped a beat." For some, this moment may be a baby's birthday, a wedding date, a graduation day, or even a first kiss.
CREATE YOUR OWN Your Night Sky, $60, thenightsky.com
To create your own Night Sky, the site prompts you to make a few selections and plug in a few pieces of information. First, you'll choose the color you want your print to be with options being black, midnight blue, grey blue, and aquamarine. Then, you'll choose your theme: do you want it on a white background? Should they highlight the constellations, a grid, the moon, all of them? Plus, add in where you want to see the sky from and the date of the occasion AKA where and when your special moment took place. Lastly you'll be asked more specific questions like time, date, and even the latitude and longitude of the location.
After all's done, enter your email address, hit continue, and then choose an optional natural wood, black, or white frame ($60). For $60 (or $120 with a frame), your print will bring back a thousand memories for the lucky someone in your life. I don't know about you, but I'll definitely be looking up at the sky the next time something momentous happens. But it's good to know I have a backup plan.
