As many fans know, Flip or Flop's Tarek El Moussa is a two time cancer survivor. He was first diagnosed with thyroid cancer after a nurse wrote in to the show's producers after its premiere to tell them she believed a lump on Tarek's throat looked like thyroid cancer.
Shortly after confirming this diagnosis with doctors, Tarek also found irregularities in past exam results, which revealed he also had testicular cancer. Now, years after recovering from surgeries and radioactive iodine therapy to beat both cancers, he is speaking up to raise awareness and money for a great cause.
"Has anyone experienced cancer in their lives either yourself or someone you know?" Tarek asked in his Instagram post. "Please join me in supporting @Movember as they raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention by rocking a Mo to Save a Bro!"
Movember, a company whose tag line is "Rock a Mo, Save a Bro," is dedicated to saving the lives of men, like Tarek, to keep them from dying at a young age. To do so, the foundation raises funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate and testicular cancers, mental health, and suicide prevention.
You can participate in Movember by signing up and growing a mustache (or "rocking a mo") to inspire donations and conversations. But, if you can't grow a mo, there are other ways to help! Like signing up to walk or run 60 miles throughout the month of November, committing to making your move for the sixty men who die by suicide every hour.
Can't grow a mustache or don't want to be put down for cardio? Host a Mo-Ment to raise donations for the Movember Foundation and help them reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25 percent by 2030.
