Never have I ever hoped Chip and Joanna Gaines would have a sixth baby quite like I did after being sucker punched in the feels by Jo's heartwarming story about motherhood, which she d on Instagram this weekend.
"I just followed along in her imaginations and her curiosities," Jo explained. "She told me she wanted to pick flowers and put them in old books that only her and I would know about and then look for them later when we got older." *Sobs uncontrollably*
As if that's not already the cutest thing in the world, the mommy-daughter duo proceeded to do so, writing their names and dates in the books so when they looked at them years from now, a flood of memories would rush back to them about the very day they spent in the garden together.
"One of the sweetest surprises for us both was when we opened up one of the books and found that someone else had done the same thing with some pretty leaves many years ago. It was like we stumbled on a treasure that reinforced how we would feel when we find these flowers again one day."
After the day was over, Jo looked back on it to give some loving advice to any mothers out there experiencing "mom-guilt" in some way, shape, or form: "Replace the word guilt with grace," she advises. "Look for grace in the moments, the small wins that lead to the greatest investments in their little hearts...From one mom to another, stop being so hard on yourself. Don't spend another second focusing on failure, instead use whatever time and whatever energy you have and look for the moments where grace can be found."
I'm not crying. You're crying.
