Tarek and Christina El Moussa's son gave them a little scare this weekend when he came down with croup. Though the Flip or Flop stars' three-year-old is "doing fine" now, Tarek posted a heartfelt message about Brayden's experience on Instagram.

"It is always very scary to see your child having a hard time breathing," Tarek captioned a photo of his youngest lying in a hospital bed. "911 was called and he was taken to hospital in an ambulance."

"I'm sharing this to remind people it's okay to ask for help in scary situations," continued the HGTV host, who also shares daughter Taylor with his ex wife. "The police and fire department are trained to help in these situations. Thank you to all that protect our families, communities and also country. And..of course...Brayden still looks cute:)"

Also known as laryngotracheobronchitis, croup is common in young children and characterized by a "barking" cough and difficulty breathing due to swelling around the vocal chords, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Thankfully, it seems the little boy is recovering quickly. The day after Tarek's post, Christina shared a snapshot of Brayden embracing her dog, Cash.

"He was only there Friday night for a couple hours to make sure his breathing was ok," Christina clarified to a concerned commenter. "Besides an ear infection, he is doing fine."
