Restored by the Fords premiered on HGTV this January, and fans loved seeing brother-sister duo Leanne and Steve Ford restore homes in rural Pennsylvania. Now, Leanne is working on a project of a different kind, as the HGTV star just announced she's expecting her first child with her husband, Erik.
The couple is expecting a little girl in March, and the 37-year-old told People that she learned she was pregnant in August, not very long after they decided to start a family.
"So many women have trouble getting pregnant, and so many of my friends have kind of had their woes about it, so I just assumed that would be the case, and you just assume it’s going to take a long time, and it didn’t," Leanne said.
Erik told the magazine he was "really surprised and instantaneously happy, so that felt really amazing because I wasn’t expecting it."
And while Leanne said she never saw herself becoming a mom, she's now over the moon about her pregnancy. "Erik is the reason I wanted to have children, because of us," she explained. "He said, ‘We have too much love not to it.’ I was like, ‘I hear that.'"
"It’s funny, somebody just changes your mind," she continued. "You think you’ve got your whole life figured out, think you have your path figured out, and something comes and just changes your mind."
As Pittsburgh Magazine reports, filming for season two of Restored by the Fords started filming in August of this year, the new season will premiere in January 2019.
