Flea Market Flip's Lara Spencer d photos of her Emmys outfit on Instagram last night, and she looked absolutely stunning in a sparkling silver Alice and Olivia dress and matching Raye boots (the same ones she wore to the Met Gala earlier this year!).
But unfortunately, internet trolls were out and about to pretty much mom shame Lara for wearing — gasp — a mini dress. "Love you, watch you every day but you're a mom. What the hell with that outfit? Would have embarrassed my kids," one person reportedly wrote. While another said they were "embarrassed" for Lara herself.
After some other unkind messages, Lara's fans said enough was enough and came to her defense. “I don’t usually read other people’s comments on social media,” one wrote. “What’s up with all the negative [posts]!! … How inappropriate, inaccurate and just not kind! I’m VERY thankful YOU know your worth @lara.spencer…”
Meanwhile, another fan had one simple request: “we need your workout routine and food log.” And the best response came from Lara's former coworker, Sam Champion, who wrote, “Dayyyyyum girl,” complete with two fire emojis.
Despite the outpouring of positivity, the hundreds of negative comments ultimately led to Lara deleting the post, which is just a shame. But that didn't stop people from continuing to send uplifting messages to Lara on her other post about the Emmys.
Whatever your opinions on Lara's choice, it’s unfortunate that several had to remind people about one age-old saying: If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
On at night that’s supposed to bring people together to talk about their favorite celebrities and shows, the last thing we should be concerned about is a woman’s hemline.
