Why 100K Vitamix Blending Containers Have Been Recalled

has announced a recall of approximately 105,000 blending containers after finding that they may pose a laceration hazard. The containers can reportedly separate from the base, causing blades to be exposed. The company has received 11 consumer complaints of lacerations as a result of this issue.

The models have a blade date code of March 2018 or earlier. The date code is laser-etched on top of the blade in the base in the format MM-YY. So, March 2018 would be etched as “03-18.” If your model has a green or orange dot on the bottom of the blade base, the defect has already been repaired.
