Awful news...life has been going so well and I've been so happy and healthy! Unfortunately....I injured my back again....it's very scary. Last time I lost 50 pounds and was taking large amounts of pain meds to try and help the pain. Truthfully those meds really affected my mental and physical state and changed who I was. Last time I hurt my back it took me a year and a half to recover. As of today I can barely walk...I honestly can't even believe this is happening, I feel like it's a bad dream that I will wake up from. I will be truthful and say I'm very down because of this. It is going to take a lot of positivity and strength to go through this a second time. I will stay positive and I will fight to get healthy again. I appreciate all the support. T

"Life has been going so well and I've been so happy and healthy!" he captioned a photo of himself in the hospital getting an MRI. "Unfortunately....I injured my back again....it's very scary."

"As of today I can barely walk," he continued. "I honestly can't even believe this is happening, I feel like it's a bad dream that I will wake up from. I will be truthful and say I'm very down because of this. It is going to take a lot of positivity and strength to go through this a second time. I will stay positive and I will fight to get healthy again. I appreciate all the support."

As Tarek implied, this isn't his first time hurting his back. Just after his treatment for both thyroid and testicular cancer, Tarek was immobilized by a debilitating back injury, People reported last year.

I thought I would this with everyone... to truly understand how absolutely sick I was.. look at this photo and look at my eyes, I was a skeleton. This took a major toll on my physical and mental health. I know many of my fans have had similar struggles and can relate. The last 3 years were the hardest of my life, I look back and still wonder how I survived... I never quit although I wanted to thousands of times all day every day. This is from hurting my back after battling 2 cancers.. I had a 60 pound weight swing from my illnesses...I'm proud to say I didn't quit and I'm in the best shape of my life!! For everyone struggling right now from any situation.. remember... keep your head up and don't quit! There is light at the end of the tunnel, stay strong! T

All of these health issues ultimately took a toll on his marriage, contributing to their 2016 divorce, according to People. Still, the couple decided to continue working together, filming the new season of Flip or Flop, which returns Thursday, May 31, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, as exes.

"It's all new territory," Christina said in a press release, calling it "beyond awkward." She continued: "When our marriage fell apart it was more public than we could have imagined. But we're picking up the pieces and we’ll still work together to support our kids."
