Seltzer lovers, you've got a new can to try. PepsiCo officially launched its own sparkling water line last week, and the brightly colored cans are making it feel like spring came early.
PepsiCo's new line, bubly, launches this month with eight fruity flavors, including grapefruit, lime, mango, and cherry. Each can has a cheeky greeting on the pop tab, like "hi" or "hay," as well as a punny message on the can like "I feel like I can be open around u." They've also got an assortment of smiles decorated with lips, mustaches, and tongues sticking out.
Like its competitors, bubly has zero calories and no artificial flavors or sweeteners. They'll be available in stores nationwide this month and come in 12-ounce cans (sold as eight or 12 packs) and 20-ounce single-serve bottles.
Given the popularity of La Croix and other sparkling and health-conscious beverages in recent years, it was only a matter of time before PepsiCo stuck its hat in the sparkling water ring. Last year, PepsiCo launched , a premium bottled water that comes in beautifully-designed bottles, and announced its goal to make two-thirds of its global beverages contain 100 calories or fewer from added sugars per 12-ounce serving by 2025. Bubly drinks, made with carbonated water, fruit flavors, and other natural flavors, fall into this category.
While the cans will be in stores February 26, bubly will make its official TV debut during the Oscar's broadcast on March 4.
"This is an exciting addition to our PepsiCo portfolio, which is why we're committed to make bubly one of our biggest product launches to date and are introducing the new brand to the world during the Academy Awards," Vice President of PepsiCo's Water Portfolio Todd Kaplan said in a press release.
