When I think pom-pom pillows, I think happiness. So much color! So much fun! But you know what's even better than buying pom-pom accessories? Making them. Yeah, that's right. The rumors you heard about pom-poms being a total nightmare to craft were lies. This week on D.I.Wine, we had our own try at the fluffy yarn balls and it turned out to be the best craft ever. And, if we did it, so can you!
Inspired by blogger A Kailo Chic Life, who made what I would consider to be the worlds fluffiest pom-pom pillow, we decided to cover ours entirely. No white spaces, just colorful fuzz everywhere.
To make them, we used yarn from Joann fabrics, small square pillows from Amazon (tip: use an old pillow instead), and a very very magical tool called a pom-pom maker. We paired the craft with prosecco, because pom-poms and prosecco just sort of belong together.
The most tedious part of this was making the pom-poms. While the tool was easy to use and helped us tremendously, the craft still took four hours total. Once we picked our colors—Alyssa did a variety while I stuck with pink and yellow—we stuck them to the pillow with a hot glue gun.
Watch how to make the pillow yourself and use a pom-pom maker in the video above, and read the full directions here.
