The famous Grey Gardens estate in East Hampton may have , but it's carriage house is still available. On the market for the first time in 56 years, the historic house is being offered for $9.5 million. Scroll down for a look inside.
The Grey Gardens property originally went all the way from the main house (shown in the lower-left corner of the above photo) to the beach, explains. The carriage house was built in 1896.
"Big Edie" Bouvier Beale, Jackie Kennedy's eccentric aunt, purchased Grey Gardens with her husband Phelan Beale, and lived there on an off until her death in 1977. She was divorced in 1946 and her daughter "little Edie" moved in with her in 1952. The family sold the carriage house in 1953 to raise money because they were living on a fixed allowance from Beale's ex-husband.
