David A. Keeps: Your bed is like a chesterfield sofa.
Christa Miller: That's just the footboard I'm leaning against. The headboard is even bigger.
You can lean back and read in either direction, then.
If it's one of those gray-until-noon Malibu days, the kids pile in with me, and we'll stay in bed and read. You feel like you're tucked in a boat. Actually, this semicircular window wall makes the whole room feel like a ship.
So you go on a cruise every night!
We just come here on weekends. But it's hard for us to plan vacations, because we always think, 'What's going to be better than our Malibu bedroom?' I love to nap in the afternoon, when there's always a breeze and all you hear is the ocean. It restores my sanity.
Is the blue palette a nod to the ocean?
Not really. It's my favorite color, and I think it's the most soothing and relaxing for a bedroom.
Deconstruct your bed for me, please.
My mattress is by , the most crazy-comfortable ever. Sheets are — I always put them through the ironing press. My pillows are smushy down.
How many pillows do you sleep with?
I have a king-size stomach sleeper, one for under my knees, another for when I roll on my side — my husband calls it my clutch pillow. I also travel with my own, but just one.
Any bed-making techniques?
I hate making the bed, but I love having crisp, clean sheets. I tuck them in tight, then as soon as I get in I kick them out at the bottom so my feet aren't squashed.
What's your nighttime ritual?
My husband thinks it's a trick how in two seconds I can wash my face and be in my cotton jammies with monkeys all over them, but it takes me two hours to get ready to go out.
Your most memorable TV bed scene?
Courteney Cox and I were in bed about to kiss when my TV husband burst in and came after us with an ax. I woke from the dream with him sleeping beside me and said, 'You ruined everything!'
