After Kim Kardashian West graced the cover of Vogue's May 2019 issue, she starred in their customary 73 Questions video—and after watching it, we had a few questions of our own, like what's the deal with her two kitchens?! Once we solved that one (apparently it's a trend) we became fixated on her bathroom sinks, which are surprisingly sans basin, and look just like a flat slab of concrete. What's going on with them? Do they even work? HOW?
Thankfully, the makeup mogul took us on a guided tour of her minimalist bathroom on Instagram stories and dropped the secrets and story behind her basin-less sinks.
It turns out that the magic is all due to good design. Kanye West actually drew the concept for the logic-defying sinks, then worked with the house's designers Axel Vervoordt and Claudio Silvestrin to make them a reality. "Kanye, Axel Vervoordt and Claudio all kind of did the sink," Kim explains on her Instagram story.
Proof the design is all about precision? A full EIGHT versions of the sink were tested before they finally found the perfect one. Here's how it works: the surface slightly slopes down so that all the water runs into the tiny slit you see in the video. Kim says that their faucet has really high pressure, and there's never any spillage because of the design.
Kim also dropped some other bathroom deets in her Instagram story reveal. Did you know their entire bathroom ceiling is a light box?! We're gonna need more info on that one, Kim.
