Hint: think velvet.

Normally I'd hate to rush the holidays. But after getting a sneak peek of the prints coming this January in Kathryn M. Ireland's newest fabric collection, the new year can't come soon enough.

Ireland revealed seven new floral prints on Instagram this week, and though the prints themselves are spectacular, the best part may be the material she teases at the end of her caption: velvet. The new velvet collection will be a welcome addition to Ireland's other gorgeous fabrics, which are available at various showrooms around the world. Favorites include Safi Suzani, Tatiana, and Moroccan Weave linens, to name a few.

Before she captured the interior design world, Ireland was an actress, clothing designer, and filmmaker; she launched her interior design business in the early nineties after moving to Los Angeles, and eventually appeared on Million Dollar Decorators.

She's become one of the most influential interior and textiles designers in the world, telling the Los Angeles Daily News that she "always starts with fabrics before pouring on the design."

Unfortunately for us, there's still a few months to wait for the upcoming velvety collection's release. So, while I anxiously count down the minutes, I'll be stopping by one of the showrooms for Ireland's current prints. Click here for the full list.
