When blogger Haeley found an old file cabinet at her local Habitat for Humanity ReStore, a lightbulb went off in her head. Though the standard office-issue cabinet was scratched and rusted, the Design Improvised blogger knew this find was a DIY project waiting to happen. So, for $50, she purchased the unit and let her creativity take over.
After Haeley removed the hardware, sanded the cabinet down, and covered it with primer, she was ready to start the transformation. She applied chalkboard paint, painted the hardware a pale pink, and created a white border to make the drawers pop even more.
Now, the unit functions as a surface for to-do lists and a craft supply organizer that helps keep Haeley's office neat and tidy.
