The seaside mansions in Big Little Lies have taken our breaths away and driven our longing for west coast living. Nestled in Monterey, California with panoramic views of the ocean, these ladies live the good life (not counting the insane drama, of course). These are the homes of the one percent of the one percent that we're talking about, with big sweeping windows and interiors to die for—but the set designer of these fabulous pads let the world in on one big secret.
As it turns out, a lot of the decor in this home isn't designer—it's actually discount. Set decorator Amy Wells spilled to Vogue that her go-to for accessories are from the one and only cult favorite among home shoppers—HomeGoods.
“I go to all of them in the whole area,” Wells said. “The main one in Manhattan Beach has more expensive items than the one in the Valley.”
Some of the decorator's other home design secrets included investing in a great sofa, grab your outdoor furniture from Restoration Hardware, and to tone it down on the knick-knacks around your home.
Next time you're down in the Los Angeles area, make sure to stop by each HomeGoods you see—you might just pick up some replica pieces from the set of our favorite whodunit series.
