When you're renovating a house, your ceiling is probably the last thing you think about, am I right? But there's a serious case for making it one of the first, because what's going on up top can make a whole world of difference in your room. You might prefer hard wood floors to tile, but it's time to take the tile up to your ceiling and watch how gorgeous it can look.
Look up right now. Odds are, you're staring at a plain white ceiling. It's fine, it works, it's non-obtrusive and gets the job done, but it could be better. Tile ceilings are taking over right now, and we're completely obsessed. Obvious things first, they look really freaking cool, and can update a room in a major way without having to bring in all new furniture or paint. But they can also help you fake architectural details in an otherwise builder-grade home. Want something super ornamental, French style? Tile can do that. Or maybe you're into the coffered look? Tile can do that, too.
But you haven't seen anything yet, because you can also extend your subway tile to your ceiling. Joanna Gaines, get on this! Bonus reasons to try this out: Tile also is pretty affordable generally (running anywhere from $4.50 to $6.30 per square foot), and not too crazy complicated to install (up for a DIY?). Let everyone else redo their floors, we're all about redoing our ceilings over here.
